FASHION FRIDAY: Summer Casual

Now that Summer has officially arrived, it’s time for concerts, outdoor parties, beach trips, and comfortable casual wear. I recently attended the Drivin’ & Cryin’ concert and needed a cute but comfortable outfit to wear. Lo and behold, I spied a beautiful coral maxi dress on Zappos and new I had to get it! It’s made of that wonderful, light jersey cotton material, so it holds up well when packed in a tiny concert hall with hundreds of other people dancing and getting all sweaty while belting out I’m Going Straight to Hell.

I have to say, this outfit got a fantastic reaction from the Mister. I think his jaw actually dropped and he stuttered a bit, saying I looked off-the-charts fucking HOT. Then he said I looked like the real-life version of the painting Flaming June by Leighton or a Roman Sun Goddess.

Hey, I’ll take it! Not bad for a 40-something chick, right?! As a pasty white redhead, the color combo of gold and coral does wonderful things for my skin. Who needs a tan?
